I’ve pretty much lived in my summer gingham dress, so I was very happy to discover this warmer version that’s totally perfect as the days start to get nippy and we move into Autumn and Winter.
With long sleeves and in gorgeous seasonal colours, this gingham dress also has a little bit of shirring at the back to add a flattering bit of shape. I’m not keen on tent-like dresses that can easily swamp if you’re not careful.
Sustainably made in the UK by Rose Corps from handwoven organic cotton, this gingham dress would layer beautifully for colder days and be a staple for years to come. The sleeves are designed to be slim enough to fit under a jacket, the length is longer for extra warmth and there are side pockets. I do like a good pocket and I also love dresses that you can wear with warm woolly tights and boots.
The beauty of buying from Rose Corps is that you can also ask for the gingham dress (as well as other designs) to be made to your own specifications – different colours, sizes, specific requests etc. Founder of Rose Corps, Naomi, hand sews every order individually, using only eco-friendly vegan materials.
I’ve picked the green and black gingham dress options to share with you here but really can’t decide which one I’ll go for myself. The green one is more seasonal, but black and white is maybe more me. Thinking about it, if I could have it in any colour it would probably be a navy blue gingham so perhaps I’ll ask if that’s a possibility. I told you this is the perfect dress for Autumn!
