In November 2020, we sold Trill Farm. It marked the end of an era but the beginning of a new chapter.
Romy Fraser had bought Trill in 2006 after selling Neal’s Yard Remedies, which she founded in 1981. Trill Farm was an ambitious project. With the aim of providing a new way of educating, we created a sustainable co-operative of like-minded businesses, guided by the natural rhythm of nature.
So followed 14 years of experimentation and learning; we created educational programmes, ran festivals, farmed organically, created hundreds of products, reared a flock of Gotland sheep, and ran many inspirational courses from growing and cookery to herbal medicine and yoga. Everything we did celebrated the land and our connection to it.
When we sold Trill Farm, we kept a wild patch of 30 acres of woodland, scrub and meadow. Home to badgers, owls and rare plants, as well as our small flock of Gotland sheep, it is the foundation for the next chapter in the story; Trill on the Hill.
