Helena Emmans silver spoons and more are hand made on The Isle of Skye.
Helena Emmans story
A little bit about me. I am an artist inspired by the beautiful Isle of Skye where I live. I grew up in Edinburgh. I graduated from Glasgow School of Art with a B.A Hons from the Embroidered and Woven Textiles Department. And I moved to the Isle of Skye 16 years ago. I live on Skye with my partner and our two children. I love absorbing and observing the beautiful ever changing island light.

My inspiration
My jewellery and silver spoons are inspired by the delicate qualities in nature. Sun bleached pebbles by the shoreline, gentle swaying grasses in the wind, simple buds, dandelion spores and stone erosion all influence my silver work.
The organic shapes are characterised by little oxidised details. Each piece is unique, time-consuming and a labour of love.
My hand-dyed thread pieces are inspired by the beautiful land and seascapes that surround me. I hope they capture their essence in a controlled and precise technique. It takes many hours to create a thread-piece from start to finish. It’s a discipline that requires patience and I love being absorbed in it.
Each piece unique
All Helena Emmans silver spoons are unique pieces and no two spoons are ever exactly the same. I have some spoons available to buy which you can see on my ‘Pieces for Sale Page’. Please get in touch if you would like to buy one. The price range starts at £150.00 for a small spoon. If you would like a special spoon made for you please get in touch. All my spoons are laser hallmarked by the Edinburgh assay office.
My spoons are characterised by subtle details and organic shapes. They have a delicate handmade quality with a matte smooth finish. The spoons are intended for light use such as for sugar or for tea leaves or just to be seen as a decorative sculptural hand-crafted object.
