Pottery West is the ceramics studio of Catherine and Matt West.
Based in Sheffield, UK, we design and make by hand our range of ceramic tableware.
Our methods of making are traditional, using the wheel and minimal tools to create our forms; mixing oxides and raw materials to compose our glazes.
The process of making wheel-thrown tableware is relatively slow-paced and repetitive. In these processes we find a sense of space and calm, a feeling of which we hope translates into the finished pieces.
Who are Pottery West?
Catherine and Matt West are ceramicists and designers working under the name of Pottery West.
Out of our Sheffield studio we work on bespoke projects for restaurants and interior schemes. Our hand-thrown pottery is available via stockists and our own online shop.
