Linda Bloomfield handmade and manufactured ceramic tableware.
[woo_product_slider id=”303079″]
Linda designs and makes contemporary tableware with her characteristic dimples and visible throwing lines showing the handmade quality. Midcentury modern design is the inspiration behind the satin matt glazes Linda uses on the outside of her designs with colour on the inside. To achieve the subtle colour palette of her collection Linda creates her own range of glazes in jewel-like colours to achieve the effect she’s aiming for. It’s translucent colours obtained using oxides, rather than commercial stains, that give Linda’s work its subtle beauty.
Her studio in west London is where Linda makes all the handmade pottery. Interestingly, she trained as a scientist before fulfilling her dream to become a potter. Liberty and Harrods are among the stockists selling Linda’s range and she has recently designed a more affordable mass-produced range.
Handmade porcelain
The handmade collection includes jugs, vases, teapots, cups and saucers, bowls, cake stands, plates and egg cups as well as bottles. All these pieces are hand made by Linda in her studio in west London and they are all (except for the cake stands) dishwasher and microwave safe.
Manufactured tableware
The manufactured collection of manufactured tableware includes teapots, plates, cups and saucers, bowls, mugs and jugs. Linda fires the porcelain to a high temperature so it does not chip and is also dishwasher and microwave safe.
We caught up with Linda at London Design Fair recently. Why not read our blog post all about the inspiring design finds we made at the fair.
