The Red Brick Glass story
When Wendy Jeavons was twelve years old she told her friends she was going to spend her life making things.
That when she was a grown-up she’d have her own shop to sell her creations.
It turns out she was right.
At Edinburgh College of Art she discovered her talent with glass. Solid but clear, strong but delicate.
Like layers of light, glass had a magical quality. Her love of making had found its perfect material.
After winning a Crafts Council Award in 2000, she took her passion for creating with glass into the professional world.
In a workshop with walls of red brick she worked as an architectural glass artist, collaborating with interior designers and
architects to create large-scale glass installations.
In 2006 she combined the skills she’d learned and the passion for making that she’d always had and finally fulfilled
that promise she’d made back when she was twelve. That dream of opening her own shop to sell the things she created.
And so the Red Brick Glass website, selling her beautiful glass gifts and decorations, was born.
Wendy designs and makes her creations in a converted barn on the Dorset coast. Unique products are designed,
glass is hand-cut and screen printed before being fired in a kiln; each piece is then finished by hand, often with
a personalised engraving.
These are beautiful gifts, made with love by a woman who loves to make.
