Make your festive table magical with mini Christmas tree decorations
As soon as I saw these mini Christmas tree decorations by Olivia Williams for Roots & Wings Organic I knew I’d have to make them for my own Christmas table – and share the idea with you! I’ve known Olivia for a little while now so I got in touch to ask if she’d be happy for me to share her idea. She is more than happy, so many thanks to her – and I hope you enjoy! X
How to make mini Christmas tree decorations
These little Christmas Trees are a real joy to make with foraged branches or snippings from the Christmas Tree. They look wonderful on a mantlepiece woven with twinkling fairy lights and are perfect for decorating your festive lunch table. The height of the mini tree can be varied with slightly longer branches and you might like to make place name settings with them.
What you’ll need
Wine bottle corks
Foraged branches
A chopping board, sharp knife and a nail / metal skewer
How to make the mini Christmas tree decorations
Start by cutting the corks into little rings on a chopping board with a sharp knife – I cut each cork into 4 rings. Then make a hole in the centre of each cork with the point of a nail or skewer.
Finally, take a tiny branch, strip away the bottom leaves to expose the stem and pop it into the cork. It’s that simple.
