Tilda doll pattern – 5 free downloads
As soon as I came across these Tilda doll pattern free downloads I couldn’t wait to share them with you. I just love the Scandi aesthetics of the designs by Tone Finnanger. And how beautiful are the fabrics?
I’ve shared the basic free Fia doll pattern as well as two free variations with clothing from the Bon Voyage and Lazy Days fabric ranges. I have also shared the Autumn Angel doll (also free to download).
You can dress your doll and create her hair exactly as the patterns… or go rogue (as I intend to) and create something unique. Either way the Tilda world created by Tone Finnanger (who lives on a small island in a Norwegian fjord) is definitely a very beautiful place to find yourself for a little while. Hope you enjoy X

- Tilda Merino wool doll hair approx. quarter of a ball. Available to buy in the UK here
- Embroidery yarn in similar colour to skin fabric, for sewing on arms and legs (optional). There’s a great selection here
- Fiberfill approx. 170g (I love this natural wool fill available to buy here)
Also recommend:
- Sewing machine

- Larger needle for yarn
- Flower stick or chopstick for turning and stuffing
- Thick paper for copying patterns
- Black hobby paint and a small metal-headed pin for eyes
- Soft pink lipstick, rouge or stamp pad, and a dry brush for rosy cheeks
Making the doll – before you start
-
- Copy or glue all the pattern pieces onto thick paper and then cut out the shapes.
- When sewing the seams, reduce your stitch length to 1.5mm–1.6mm.
- Unless otherwise instructed, sew on the outer line of the pattern. Generally, no seam allowances are included in the patterns, except for areas marked with ES (extra seam allowance).
- Cut out the shapes after sewing whenever possible, cutting ⅛in–¼in (3mm–6mm) outside the sewn line. For pieces that need to be cut out before sewing, add a normal seam allowance, and trim down after sewing.
- To get a good shape, cut snips in the seam allowance where seams curve tightly inwards.
- Stuff well, using a stick to fill small areas.
- Sew up openings with matching thread and small slipstitches

Goodness gracious!! What lovely dolls. i have been looking for something unusual to sew in the dolly line & found this quite by random on the Pinterest website. Thank you very much for the free downloads. I shall try my darndest to make them as beautiful as the ones you have done. The church group I belong to, where all the ladies contribute their sewing/knitting etc towards a big Bazaar at he end of the year in order to raise money to support the church & resupply materials to the group, will certainly like these patterns & hopefully they will sell. I have a big stash of colourful squares of which I shall use to make the dolls. An enormous thank you again.

I can’t seem to find the gold embossed wings you show on the pigs. Is it possible to tell where or how to make them
Thank you
Laura Dunkley says
Hello Mary
Not sure which pigs you mean…? I find Etsy a good place to find this kind of thing. There’s this pattern to make your own fabric wings for a Tilda doll https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/500719418/pdf-sewing-pattern-for-tilda-doll-angel
I also found this kit for making Tilda Christmas lambs with gold wings… https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/203970603/diy-kit-christmas-lambs-or-sheep-from
The gold angel wings are featured in the Christmas catalogue here https://issuu.com/tilda2/docs/tilda_14h_en_web_alla_sidor/6 and the wings listed as being cardboard 6.5cm x 11 cm product number 480746.
I can’t find this product for sale any longer, but I did find these similar gold embossed angel wings on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/871633404/dresden-cardboard-angel-wings-set-of-8
Hope that helps!
